If only the sound of CrossFit, weightlifting, or cardio sounds exhausting for you, it’s understandable. There are, however, some easy exercises you can complete in the comfort of your own home if you’re ever feeling sluggish. We don’t mean any elaborate exercises that you have to research in order to understand the exact technique. Just a few easy home favorites that everyone knows and are just as effective.
Practicing a simple forward fold where you are allowing your body to melt down over your legs as you reach for the floor is a super effective stretch to increase flexibility. You can practice this stretch anywhere from your office to your room. Holding this pose for 90 seconds every day will significantly release muscle tension.
Get your blood flowing and your heart racing with some sets of jumping jacks. Doing this in the morning and afternoon is a great energy and mood booster.
Planks are a great exercise that activates your entire body. Make sure to pull your abdomen tight and create a strong line of energy from your head to your toes. You can also do this exercise on either side to strengthen your obliques. Hold for one minute, do this daily and you will see results.
Squats are a fun exercise to do in front of your mirror with fun music pumping in the background to help get you motivated. Engage your core and glutes and press back as though you are sitting in a chair. You can play with the speed and tempo by holding the pose. For example, you can do 20 squats and then hold the last one for a few more seconds. Repeat several sets for more intensity.
