Square-toe shoes are one of the hottest trends this fall. Sandals, flip flops, and boots, this design can be seen in every form of shoes. Although this trend is usually mentioned in regards to the Bottega Veneta fashion house, more and more brands have joined in on the trend in recent years. Such is the Dutch brand, Wandler.
Wandler, which is mostly known for its amazing bags, is now breaking into the footwear scene as well. The dutch brand was established two years ago, and soon became a prominent player in the fashion game. The brand’s bags are carried by leading fashionistas all around the world, including famous sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid. At the end of the latest New York Fashion Week, the two were even spotted wearing the brand’s Isa model boots.
As mentioned, the brand was established two years ago by Elza Wandler. Wandler was born and raised in the southern part of the Netherlands, and currently lives and operates from Amsterdam. Each design of the brand, whether it’s shoes or bags, is handmade in Italy. Starting with handbags, Wandler, specialized in luxury leather geometric-shaped bags.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Wandler said that accessories have always been her passion because they are “like little sculptures.” When asked what was the inspiration behind the brand’s conception in an interview with Bergdorf Goodman, Wandler answered: “I think the brand has created a maturity around itself which has a certain luxury appeal attached to it that you don’t see with many contemporary bag brands. I like mixing clean lines with a dash of more-is-more or the other way around.”
When speaking about who is the Wandler woman, Wandler said: “I don’t really believe in one specific woman. Wandler is for anyone who feels drawn to it. I’m focused on creating designs that compliment a woman’s look by combining functional relevance with elegance.”
Having already conquered two major slots in the fashion world, there is no denying this is just the start for Wandler.
