Appreciating Your Success

The world is fast-moving. It is easy to get intimidated by the success of others. It seems like every time you open your LinkedIn, someone has started a new position or made some new achievement, and you end up thinking what are you doing with your life? You were someone with goals as a child. You had aspirations, and you can’t help but notice how far you are from those goals. You might feel overwhelmed by those appearing to reach closer to their goals every day, but what is really important is for you to take a step back and realize that what you are doing right now is fine.

There is no harm in being ambitious. You should always strive to move forward and attain new heights, but in seeing how far your goals are, you often forget how far you have come from where you once stood. When you take a step back and think about how much you have achieved, how much you have grown as a person, and how your problems today are very different from those you had a few years ago, that is when you realize that you have been moving forward all along. You simply have your own pace like everybody else.

With time you realize that life was never supposed to be a race. You never had to do things before your peers did. You never had to score better than your classmates. You never had to buy the most expensive car in your neighborhood. You never needed the biggest house with your friends. The only thing you really needed was to live life in the present and pursue what makes you happy. It is okay falling behind in your circles if you find happiness at the back. Who knows? Maybe it is lonely in the first place
