Before we get into the benefits of self-check-ins, answer these short questions. How often do you check up n your friends? How often do you check up on your family? Now, this may seem like a ridiculous question but why do you check up on them? Many of us check up on our loved ones because we care about them and would like them to know it. After you have checked upon them, they probably feel loved, cared for, and even seen. This then leads us to why you are here. Checking up on someone is good but when last have you checked up on yourself? It may sound a bit strange, but this is a part of self-care. With that said let’s take a look at some of the benefits of self-check-ins.

Life can be extremely busy and stressful. You have so many responsibilities. This includes work, family, friendships and so much more. With all these things that require your time and attention, it is very easy to forget to make sure that you are okay. Yes, you might not feel stressed or burnt out, but you really don’t want to get to the point where you are. Doing a self-check-in can help you avoid those burnout moments. It can also help you avoid feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. This is why many people will recommend doing a self-check-in. Now you may be thinking about how does a self-check-in works.

Thankfully you don’t have to be a trained professional to do a self-check-in. All you really need is some time and space. If you like you can get a journal and write down how you are feeling. This will also help you keep track of your emotions. When doing a self-check-in simply ask yourself a few questions relating to your day or week. Make sure, to be honest with yourself. Remember it is your time.
