We are at the end of this year’s award season. Yesterday, May 11th, 2021, the Brit Awards took place in London, giving the music industry’s finest another opportunity to pull out all the stops on the red carpet. Fully understanding and taking on the mission, stars such as Taylor Swift and Rina Sawayama arrived at London’s O2 Arena dressed in beautiful and epic looks. It seems that after a year, these stars were anxious to make up for the lost time after a year of largely virtual awards ceremonies. So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite looks from last night’s ceremony.

Making history as the first girl group to ever win the Best British Group award, the members of Little Mix stunned on this year’s red carpet. Leigh-Anne Pinnock opted for a high-neck semi see-through Margiela gown. Perrie Edwards chose a matching white two-piece with off-the-shoulder Bardot sleeves gorgeous floor-length white skirt by David Koma, and Jade Thirlwall glowed in a figure-hugging, strapless Vivienne Westwood number.

This year’s breakthrough star made her BRITs debut one for the books. The Drivers License singer showed up on the red carpet wearing a neon green strapless tulle ballerina gown from Dior and was styled by Anna Hughes-Chamberlain. Rodrigo matched her look with jewelry by McQueen’s right-hand man Shaun Leane.

Another girl band that stunned on yesterday’s red carpet was Haim. Wearing an unexpected choice of brand, the band decided to wear clothes by The Row on this year’s red carpet. As an alternative to the free-flowing gowns you may be used to, the singing trio went for sharp, menswear-inspired tailoring instead. Este wore a black pantsuit nipped in at the waist with a sleek leather belt. Danielle opted for a black blazer and top with pleated khaki slacks, and Alana wore a cozy black sweater vest over a white shirt with billowing sleeves, paired with flared black pants.

Rina Sawayama

Making history at the BRIT Awards, Rina Sawyama managed to receive a nomination in the Rising Star category after being previously ineligible for the award because she doesn’t hold a British passport. The rules were recently changed after she spoke out about the selection criteria and a wave of support from fans saw #SawayamaisBritish trending online. The singer looked stunning on the red carpet in a tiered, ruffled ensemble from Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2019 couture collection. Leaning into the ethereal look, Sawayama wore her hair slicked completely to the back with ornate accessories that complimented the dramatic look.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has stepped out for her second major red carpet event of the year, having been honored with the Global Icon award. Swift made history as the first woman to win the award. The Fearless singer wore a white sequined two-piece by Miu Miu with definite 1989 vibes paired with very Red era hair and red lipstick. Swift is known for her Easter eggs, so make what you will about what the look says about her next album re-releases.
