After last year’s ceremony was conducted through Zoom, and the red carpet was virtual. This year, the Emmys are back, and we are thrilled. Finally, the red carpet had been rolled out for our favorite stars to flaunt their excellent work and their fabulous fashion. Television’s biggest night brought out some vibrant fashion choices, and we cannot wait to go over it with you now. So, without further ado, here are some of the best looks from the red carpet of the 2021 Emmy Awards:
Michaela Coel

Michaela Coel arrived at the Emmys in a bright and bold look, wearing a custom two-piece yellow set by Christopher John Rogers. The ensemble was composed of a neon bralette adorned with a 6-foot silk organza bow and a matching column skirt. Coel accessorized the look with gold and pearl Alighieri earrings and an Anne Sisteron 14K gold baguette and diamond necklace. Coel also made history on Sunday’s ceremony, becoming the first Black woman to win ‘Outstanding Writing in a Limited Series’ for her powerful and personal drama, I May Destroy You.
Kerry Washington

It is not simple to work a look that’s sexy, chic, and old-school glamorous at the same time, but if there’s anyone who can make it look easy, it’s Kerry Washington. The actress worked the Emmys red carpet wearing a classic silver satin slip gown by Etro with an edgy twist. The dress featured a draped cowl neckline and an exterior corset. The Scandal actress rocked a long ponytail and a red lip and accessorized her look with diamonds by De Beers Jewellers.
Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen looked stunning on the 2021 Emmys red carpet with a little help from famous sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who designed her elegant white gown for Sunday night’s event. Olsen matched the caped-styled dress from her sisters’ luxury brand The Row, with stunning Chopard diamond earrings and a short curled bob. Olsen was nominated for the first time for her leading performance in the Disney+ Marvel show, Wandavision.
Jurnee Smollett

Following her virtual awards season, Jurnee Smollett returned to the red carpet for the 2021 Emmy Awards. After sporting more daring looks which featured feathers or sparkles, on this occasion, Smollett switched gears, wearing a classic Christian Dior corolla dress featuring a fringed underskirt from the Fall 2020 Haute Couture collection. The actress styled her look with a deep red lip which fitted perfectly, and topped it off with killer diamonds and sleek hair.
Anya Taylor-Joy

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy made her debut at the Emmys this year, receiving a nomination for her leading role in The Queen’s Gambit. On the red carpet, the actress wore a yellow silk dress and an opera jacket combo from Dior Haute Couture, which featured a dramatic train. The look was styled by Taylor-Joy herself along with stylist Paul Burgo. Taylor-Joy matched her outfit with Old Hollywood hair and makeup and paired it with jewelry from Tiffany & Co. The jewelry included two Elsa Perretti necklaces that draped down her back, as well as diamond-and-platinum earrings and a bracelet and ring made from platinum and 18-karat gold, adorned with yellow sapphires.
Cynthia Erivo

One thing you can never say about actress and singer Cynthia Erivo is that her fashion is boring. Even though this one might be a bit toned-down for Erivo, it was still one of the more head-turning looks of the night. The Genius actress wore a Louis Vuitton leather custom creation. The simple white gown is punctuated by an explosion of colorful feathers arranged in stripes at the hem, making it an unusual look but eye-catching nonetheless.
Jean Smart

The ‘Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series’ winner, Jean Smart, looked stunning on the red carpet. The 70-year-old actress opted for a floor-length Ralph Lauren dress with a high neckline and sheer sleeves and chest. Smart paired the elegant dress with Cathy Waterman diamond earrings and a clutch bag. According to fashion columnist Evan Ross Katz, the dress was a modified version of a different dress Smart wore in Hacks.
