Marc Jacobs held his show at the Park Avenue Armory. Among other things, the show notes read: “This show, like that show (2001) is a celebration of life, joy, equality, individuality, optimism, happiness, indulgence, dreams…” Do you think the photos below capture that?
Jason Wu held his show at Pier 17. On the show, Wu said: “It’s about beauty. I have never been edgy and cool. I don’t know how to do it. I want to do my best version of beauty.”
Michael Kors waved the flag for his American dream at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. On the show, Kors said: “It’s a statement about possibility, it’s a statement about optimism.”
For this spring collection, Wes Gordon was inspired by the recent California “super bloom,” a rare occurrence when wildflowers overproduce seeds during a drought year, which erupt into a natural wonder the following season. Gordon said: “What was once a barren field suddenly is a vibrant rich colorful carpet of beauty and flowers as far as the eye can see.”
