Bridgerton’s Star Stuns On And Off Screen

Netflix’s last hit, Bridgerton, has only come out recently and had already become a major topic of conversation around the world. The show was promising even before its debut due to the combination of a Shonda Rhimes production + steamy romance + a Julie Andrews voice-over as Gossip Girl. And, indeed, Bridgerton lived up to its potential and was recently acknowledged as Netflix’s biggest show ever. Who caught our eye was the lead actress in the series, Phoebe Dynevor, who, as we found out, has an incredible style even off-screen – a style that is easily implied on others as well. This new it-girl is our new crash and inspiration.

The 25-year-old Dynevor plays the lead role of Daphne Bridgerton. Dynevor has been acting for over a decade now, but her role in Bridgerton is a leap for her to a new level of fame and recognition. And, what does a young actress who gets a lead role in a popular Netflix series do? A photoshoot for a fashion magazine, of course! Dynevor starred on the digital cover of British Glamor magazine for December 2020 in a pink tulle dress by Philosophy. In other photos taken, Dynevor wore Dior. In the atmosphere of quarantine, the photos were taken at her house, and the man behind the camera is non-other than her father, who is actually a screen-writer.

Being the Bridgerton is taking place in 19th-century England, on-screen, Dynevor wears a wardrobe that fits the era, including corsets and evening gowns for social events. In reality, however, it is a completely different story. When she is not photographed to productions in Dior or Chanel, Dynevor’s style is casual and straightforward and consists mainly of jeans, T-shirts, and active-wear. When she’s on the red carpet, you can see some connection between her personal style and that of her character. Like Daphne, Phoebe loves feminine and romantic dresses with embroidery, pageant, or woolen. The inspiration for her everyday style, by the way, also comes from period figures – but of a different era. On her Instagram page, Dynevor posts images of Audrey Hepburn wearing jeans, Jane Fonda with a headscarf, or modern artwork, giving another glimpse into her personal taste.
