Working out consistently is a great thing so give yourself a pat on the back. Not many people can say that they are consistent with their physical fitness. Now, do you find yourself becoming bored with your workouts? If yes, you will be pleased to know that you aren’t the only one. There are many people who find doing the same workout routine for months extremely boring. This is part of the reason why people give up on fitness and stop working out. So does this mean that all your workouts have to be the same? Well, let’s get into that and get you an answer.
Do you know what it’s called when you do the same thing over and over? It’s called repetition. Now repetition isn’t a bad thing. In fact, in order to fully learn and understand something, you may have to do it a few times. With that said, there are benefits to doing the same workout for a while. You see, your body needs to get used to a workout before you can actually see results. This means that you may have to do it a few times over. However, it doesn’t mean that you should do the same workout forever.
Instead, it means that you should allow your body to get used to a workout and then switch things up. If you do the same workout for months on end, you won’t see any results. For example, if you walk the same route at the same pace, day in and day out, you won’t feel anything and you won’t see any changes. To feel changes within your body, you will need to walk a bit further and at a different pace. Once you are used to that distance, you can take things further and add a few more miles to your walk and try to even jog. This means that you don’t have to do the same workout forever.
