Everyone’s excited to finally get out again after the pandemic, and what better way to show the world that you’re back, than to show off those luscious locks? The trendy hairstyles of 2021 have proven to be bolder and bigger than ever before. These hairstyles scream empowerment and individuality. Each can be personalized to give your own spin on it. So without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the trendiest hairstyles of 2021.

This year we saw the return of the mullet. Traditionally a men’s hairstyle, it has become quite a statement hairstyle for women. It’s a little more chill than the ‘80s version, but we’re loving it. The ‘lob’ (aka the long bob) was also introduced this year. Seen among celebrities and models alike, this hairstyle is like a classic bob but hits the shoulders instead of the jawline. Hair lengths went in both directions this year. With pixies going shorter than previously, and colored buzz-cuts also making a statement, and the classic full length made a comeback. Long hair paired with a middle part has been extremely popular, as well as blunt cuts of any length, so long as there are no layers involved.

Awareness of haircare and damage has made natural textures become a favorite. This can be achieved by emphasizing the texture of your hair using minimal products, and no heat. The undercut still remained strong this year. No matter the length of hair, buzzing the lower half gave people an excuse to reunite with their hairstylists after spending so long cooped up at home. Bangs have hung around too, short and long, as well as side-swept and wispy bangs. Curtain bangs in particular have been favored this year. Not as harsh as blunt fringe, they provide a way to elevate that popular middle part. And as always, we just love to color our hair; both icy blondes to accompany the winter months, and party highlights for a bit of fun too.
