There are some harsh truths out that they may hurt, but at the end of the day, once you understand them and stop trying to fight them, you will be a lot more powerful.
For starters, let’s all agree on the fact that no one is actually ‘’too busy to respond to you’’. It takes a second to send a text message back or to answer an email, whether it be a guy or a girl you went on a date with, or even an employer. If someone doesn’t respond to you, it’s on purpose.
The sooner you stop making excuses for these kinds of people, the sooner you can start to shift your focus and energy on people that will make the time for you and won’t make you wonder or wait around for them.
It’s also important to remember, as hard as it may be to hear at first, that everyone is thinking about their own interests before all. Regardless of how sweet, caring and genuine one may be, they will always be putting themselves before you and their own needs, whether or not they are aware of it.
Part of being empowered is also realizing that no matter how hard you try and what you do, you won’t be able to please everyone in your life. And if you did actually listen and do what everyone asked from you, you would live a very unhappy life, and then someone else would come and tell you to be different or more bold and interesting. Accept the fact that not everyone will always love you – and that’s perfectly fine. Listen to your own judgment because that’s the only one that truly matters.
And last, but certainly not least, accept the fact that no one will come to save you. We all want to believe that that perfect job or perfect person will magically show up to make all of our dreams come true and all of our problems go away. Life doesn’t work that way. If you want to see change in your life, it’s got to come from you and only you.
