Do you find yourself giving up on your workout routine after only a couple of months? Don’t worry that’s normal. Tons of people stop working out or going to the gym because they don’t see instant results. Now you should know that it will take some time to see the results you want. That’s why it may be good to have a few tips that will teach you how to commit to exercise.

You won’t stick to your workout routine if you are trying to look good for other people. This means that you have to be internally motivated. If you truly want to be in the gym working on your fitness for yourself, then you will be. Once you change your mindset you will notice that you will stick to your workout routine. Just because it’s called a workout routine doesn’t mean it has to be rigid and strict. You are allowed to switch things up from time to time. In fact, you should. Switching your workout routine up from time to time is a great way to incorporate fun into your workouts and it helps keep you interested and intrigued.

You need to take things slow. Yes, you may be highly motivated but you can’t expect to go for a 5-mile run if you have never run before. Starting off big and going hard may seem like a good idea at first. But if you don’t achieve what you had planned it can backfire and become a demotivator. Being your own cheerleader can be exhausting and underwhelming. That’s where a friend can help. The great thing about having a friend is that you have someone familiar to workout with. But that’s not all, you will also have someone that can hold you accountable.
