There are few things more frustrating than being with someone who you like so, so, so much but you haven’t defined the relationship with them yet.  Of course there is always the possibility that they will just you up, but still, being in an almost relationship is seriously annoying.

As summer starts to come to end, you might want to hear about these ways to make your almost relationship official, so that it goes beyond just a summer fling, and that you”ll have someone to cuddle with throughout the cold winter season.

For one, make sure not to make it too easy for them.  Don’t immediately run to them the second they text you, even if you really want to. Set boundaries and make them realize how good they’ve got it, especially if they’re not making an effort.

The next step if to try to hang out more often, even if you’re both busy, we’re all really busy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make time for the people that are important to you.  Even if it’s for a short time on your lunch break, whatever the situation might be, the more time you spend together can get your almost relationship to turn into something bigger.

Try meeting each other’s friends, because in real relationships that’s what people do, there’s much then just the two of you, there’s family, friends and co-workers. It may seem rather overwhelming but if you want this to be official, then you need to at the very least get to know their friends.

Don’t be afraid to test out the waters. Say something casual about doing something serious together like meeting your sister and see how they react. Make it clear that you want them in your future, and see whether or not they want you in theirs.

Most importantly though, just talk it out. We know that it can be scary to have that talk, but this is what you need to do ultimately to get what you want. Clearly this almost relationship means something to you. Tell them you are feeling, and see if they feel the same way.

And if they don’t want the same thing? Then great, you can stop wasting your time and start moving on to bigger and better things.
