A healthy breakfast is the cornerstone of a productive day. It is your first meal of the day and kickstarts the momentum you need to carry you through the demands of modern life. Ignoring this very important meal is tantamount to sabotaging your day with all the nutrients you deprive your body of. Without these necessary nutrients, your body will begin to lack energy and fatigue will kick in far quicker than normal. Thankfully, this can be avoided if you incorporate the following items into your breakfast routine!

First on the list is the quintessential healthy breakfast item: oats! Being 100% whole grain and full of fiber, essential minerals like iron and calcium, B vitamins, plant-based proteins, and so on, it is no wonder that oats are given the importance that they have. The nutritional value it offers reduces the risk of heart disease, improves cholesterol levels, and allows helpful bacteria to thrive in your digestive system for longer. Berries are an excellent way to supplement an oat-heavy breakfast, both in terms of enriching the taste and nutritional intake. Strawberries, for instance, are an excellent way to get your daily dose of fiber and Vitamin C with a minimal calorie intake. Generally speaking, berries also contain helpful antioxidants which rejuvenate the body on a cellular level and boost blood flow.

Moving onto a more common item, eggs serve as an excellent start to your day. By and large an inexpensive breakfast staple, they contain Vitamins A, B12, and D, and roughly 8 grams of protein per egg. Since our body absolutely needs protein to function effectively, and since protein stays in us longer than other nutrients, the importance of eggs in our diet cannot be overstated. To make the most of this otherwise bland meal, however, your eggs can be supplemented with toast or any number of vegetables for added taste!
