Oftentimes we can get wrapped up in constantly doing things on the weekend, it can feel like there is a time crunch and we must fit in as much as possible. But sometimes your mind and body simply need a rest and recharge kind of day and what a better day to take care of yourself than Sunday. Here are some tips to unwind and enjoy some self-care this weekend.
Spend Some Time Alone
Throughout the week we are constantly stimulated by interactions with people whether it’s coworkers, friends, family, partners, we often underestimate how much of an effort this takes on us. Know that it’s more than okay to isolate yourself for some hours and regain your energy and strength. This may be a good time to take a warm shower, meditate, listen to music, or literally do anything you love to do.
Immerse Yourself in Creativity
If you like to read, write, draw you can use this time to park yourself at a cafe or a porch and reduce stress by immersing yourself in your preferred activity. Being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely when you enjoy your own company. We don’t usually get the opportunity to feel creative in our weekly routine and office jobs so sparing some time will help you discover more from within.
No need to set an alarm or stress about what needs to be done. Allow your body to rest and get in hours of sleep that have been missed throughout the week. Studies show that better sleep can increase feel-good chemicals that can make you feel healthy and alert. So don’t hold back on a Sunday, it’s okay to rest.
