2020 was a harsh year in all fields. Everything and everyone was affected by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the fashion industry was among them. As a result, the number of outfits we witnessed this year was limited, and understandably so. But, with the hope of the upcoming new year, we should focus on the rare appearances and outfits we have got to witness this year and made this year a little more easy on the eye and bearable. So, without further ado, here are some of the best outfits of 2020.
Katie Holmes
Katie Holmes was a ray of sunshine in this dark time. Throughout everything, Holmes kept on giving us several stunning outfits. The outfit above was worn by Holmes in January of 2020, when we were still hopeful about the kind of the year 2020 would turn out to be. At the Whitney Museum Art Party in New York City, Holmes wore luxe Carolina Herrera separates – an off-the-shoulder crop top with exaggerated sleeves and matching silk pants – for a sophisticated, all-black look. The actress wore her hair pulled into a sleek pony and completed her look with black Giuseppe Zanotti knotted mules and a Tod’s bag.

Kaitlyn Dever’s 2020 Golden Globes dress by Valentino looked straight out of a fairy tale. The gown featured a Cinderella-esque silhouette, from the poofy sleeves to the cinched waist, to the sheer size of the skirt. Even better, though, Dever’s gown was covered with a stunning black, white, and pink floral pattern.

Mere hours after announcing that she was expecting her first child, via Vogue’s digital cover story, Emily Ratajkowski took to the streets of New York City wearing a black, long-sleeve dress, which she paired with red, knee-high boots. Ratajkowski’s dress, titled the Gigi Dress, features a large cutout in the waist area, with a black strap that runs across it, and was designed by one of Instagram’s most up-and-coming labels Aya Muse.

Despite everything that happened this year, Zendaya managed to put a smile on our faces multiple times this year, whether it was her gorgeous outfits or her historic Emmy win. Zendaya caught everyone’s eye when she attended the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards in a pink Tom Ford look, which was made out of a metallic fuchsia bustier top and a matching pink maxi skirt. She accessorized with Mateo New York earrings, Djula rings, and Christian Louboutin heels.
Renée Zellweger

Concluding her best award season yet, both in fashion and awards, Renée Zellweger saved the best for last, attending the 2020 Academy Awards. Zellweger wore a custom Armani Privé gown that was nothing short of perfect. The one-shoulder long-sleeve, the crisp white hue, the flattering diagonal sequin embroidery, the more pronounced detailing at the trim – this gown was made for a best actress win.

Hailey Bieber took Paris’ fashion week by storm with her impressive street style. Bieber was out and about in the city of light in an emerald green micro Tre by Natalie Ratabesi skirt suit with Casadei thigh-high boots and a new Bottega Veneta chain pouch swinging over her shoulder.
Queen Letizia

Queen Letizia of Spain was yet another ray of sunshine in this dark year, delivering many outstanding outfits. To last year’s New Year Military parade, Queen Letizia wore a tailored blue dress that slightly exposed her legs. It’s not clear who is signed on the piece, but it’s one of the most beautiful outfits we’ve seen from Queen Letizia this year, and trust us, the competition is tough. These are some of the outfits that made 2020 a bit more bearable for us. What do you think of these looks?
