Swimming is a popular sport that has been enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities for centuries. It is also an Olympic sport, with some of the world’s best athletes competing in swimming events every four years. Among these top swimmers are many female athletes who have achieved remarkable success in their chosen disciplines. In this article, we will be looking at some of the top female swimmers around the world today and discussing their accomplishments. One of the most successful female swimmers on the international stage right now is Katie Ledecky from America.

She holds five individual World Records across various distances in freestyle swimming, as well as several American records and numerous medals from major competitions such as the Olympics and World Championships. She won her first medal at just 15 years old when she clinched gold in 800m freestyle at London 2012 before going on to win three more golds at Rio 2016. At 22 years old she remains one of America’s greatest ever swimmers, not only for her impressive record but for her consistent performances over long distances too – something which has earned her global recognition within the swimming community.

Another formidable female swimmer is Sarah Sjöström from Sweden. She has been competing at the highest level since 2009 and currently holds world records in the 50m, 100m, and 200m butterfly events. Her list of achievements includes multiple gold medals, including seven at World Championships, making her one of the most decorated swimmers in history. In 2016 she won three golds and a bronze at the Rio Olympics and also holds numerous European records. Her incredible speed, power, and technique continue to make her one of the most formidable swimmers in the world today. Lastly, there is Katinka Hosszú from Hungary who has taken women’s swimming to a new level in recent years. She is the world record holder in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle events, having set her first world record when she was just 15 years old. Her accomplishments include four Olympic gold medals, thirteen World Championship titles, and an incredible twenty-four European Championships medals.
