Just because you are on a fitness journey or want to stay in shape, it doesn’t mean that you have to spend all your time in the gym. That’s right, there are in fact alternative ways to stay in shape. Thinking that you can only work on your fitness while in the gym is an old myth. Working out in the gym is good but it can become a bit repetitive. This is why you should consider giving sports a try. More specifically you should give volleyball a try. Now you don’t have to be a professional athlete to play volleyball.

When you watch a volleyball match, you may think that you could never play it but you are wrong. Just because you have an interest in a sport does not mean that you have to take it on as a profession. There are many people who simply participate in the sport because they are looking to switch up their workout routine or because they simply enjoy the sport. Now as a beginner you will need to know a few things before you start playing. First, you will need some protective gear while playing volleyball.

Even though volleyball isn’t an extreme sport, you will need protective gear when playing. This will include elbow pads and knee pads. You will need this when playing because you might end up diving on your knees or elbows. Next, you will need to practice your serving. Before you can really get to know the game of volleyball, you will need to know how to actually hit the ball. You can practice this by hitting a ball against the wall. Do remember that there is a certain hand technique to hitting a volleyball. With that said, if you find yourself struggling, you can simply reach out to someone who has played the game before or a volleyball coach.
