Going to the gym every day for an hour a day sounds perfect, in theory. For some people though, its completely unrealistic.  If you’re one of those people whose busy every breathing second, it can seem like a major win just to have time to make dinner or give your parents a phone call, let alone find time to make it all the way to the gym.

But truth be told, exercise doesn’t actually have to be all that time consuming.  There are tons of simple ways to workout more without giving up on other important parts of your life for fitness.

Start by trying out ‘Tabata’, It’s a form of high-intensity interval training, that requires you to do super intense exercises that you perform for 20 seconds with a 10 second break.  If you’re short on time, this is the perfect way to do something quick, yet effective in challenging your body.

It will get your heart pumping and your muscles working in as little as 10 minutes.  It also requires no equipment and can be done basically anywhere. You can find the timed song with a catchy tunes on Youtube, as well as various examples of exercises that can be done.

Your next step is to befriend the plank. Although it doesn’t seem that difficult upon first sight, it burns like hell, and it’s a wonderful way to get a lot of results in a short amount of time. By holding a plank, you are working not only on your core muscles, but also on your arms, shoulders and legs.  There are tons of plank variations such as side plank, high plank and rocking plank to keep things interesting.
And last, but not least, say goodbye to the escalator. Whenever you have the option of stairs, take them. They are everywhere and can be used for so many different types of cardio workouts. Running up the stairs ,walking up the stairs, incorporating some dynamic moves can easily be added into your daily routine without even noticing.
