Why I Don’t Believe In Love At First Sight

I‘m not going to sugar coat it. I never have, and never will believe in love at first sight. How could it be possible that just by looking at someone for a second that you know that they are everything that you have always wanted? You don’t.

Of course, you can be attracted to someone and feel an instant connection, but love? No, no, not at all.  It’s just not what true love is. Love is not that passion and longing for someone that you feel for someone shortly after knowing someone.

Love is knowing your partner inside and out, knowing all of their flaws, faults and shortcomings.  You think you like someone because of what you see in them, but what real love is is despite what you see in them, you love what you see in them.

This is maybe maybe why they say love is so complicated. There’s no exact science to it, there’s no accuracy, and we can’t learn about how to do it in school.

Give love a real chance, and let yourself see what a truly deep connection is after knowing someone for long enough.  Get to know their real selves, and show them yours too!
