Southeast Asia is the backpacking center of the world. If you want to set off on an adventure on a budget, you’re covered.  Southeast Asia makes it possible for people to see some of the world’s most beautiful places without doing too much damage to their bank accounts.  The most popular tourist destinations are Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Experienced backpackers know that sometimes, you’ve got to give up on luxury in order to fulfill your wanderlust dreams.  Sharing bunk beds with other travelers is so much better than fancy hotels anyway. Taking an overnight bus is much more of a memorable experience than flying first class is.  You may have to go without wifi, but that’s what exploring the world is all about, right?

Discover ancient temples in Cambodia, try out some mouthwatering street food in Thailand, check out some rice terraces in Bali, cruise your day down Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay and snorkel the perfectly blue water in the Philippines.  We promise that backpacking Southeast Asia will without a doubt be the best thing you ever do.

The food is so amazing that it’s enough of a reason to fly over to Southeast Asia. You’ll have a unique culinary experience in each country.  From Pad Thai in Thailand to curry in Malaysia and Pho in Vietnam, you and your taste buds will be having the time of your lives. And if you’re feeling bold, there’s no shortage of foods you’ve never tried before. Scorpions, anyone?

The affordability of the region is a huge attraction for any traveler who is looking to not spend everything they’ve ever saved. There are tons of cheap hostels, cheap street food, and plenty of gorgeous landscapes to explore for free. You can even get a massage daily without breaking the bank.

If this isn’t enough for you, the beaches are among the most beautiful in the world, with endless opportunities to lay out in turquoise waters and white sand.

A trip to Southeast Asia is also the perfect way to learn about a different culture, with each country having different traditions, history, customs, and languages. Need we say more?
